Objectives

The «Innovative Product Leadership – Advanced» course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead successful product development initiatives. By integrating Agile and Lean principles with advanced product management techniques, this course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of modern product leadership. 

Topics we will cover:

  1. Understand the Fundamentals of Product Development:
    • Gain a thorough understanding of the product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch.
    • Learn the importance of integrating Agile and Lean principles to enhance efficiency and innovation.
  2. Master Advanced Product Development Techniques:
    • Explore design thinking and innovation methodologies to foster creativity and problem-solving.
    • Learn how to translate customer needs into detailed product specifications and designs.
    • Develop skills in project management, risk mitigation, and cross-functional team collaboration.
  3. Bridge the Gap Between Strategy and Execution:
    • Understand the key differences between projects and products, and learn how to transition from a project-based to a product-centric approach.
    • Utilize Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to align product strategy with execution, ensuring focus and measurable outcomes.
  4. Apply Market Research and Customer Insights:
    • Conduct effective market research to understand customer needs, pain points, and market trends.
    • Create user personas and customer journey maps to inform product strategy and design.
  5. Develop and Implement Product Strategies:
    • Define a clear product vision and strategy, and develop a comprehensive product roadmap.
    • Learn prioritization techniques to manage trade-offs and ensure alignment with business goals.
  6. Evaluate and Improve Product Performance:
    • Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success.
    • Implement continuous improvement practices based on performance data and feedback loops.
  7. Engage in Practical, Hands-on Learning:
    • Participate in group projects to develop product strategies and roadmaps, incorporating OKRs.
    • Analyze real-world case studies and apply lessons learned to hypothetical scenarios.
    • Present project outcomes and receive feedback from peers and instructors.

By the end of this course, participants will be equipped with the tools and knowledge to lead innovative product development efforts, drive strategic alignment, and achieve measurable success in their organizations.

Prerequisites

A background in product or solution management is strongly recommended. Those who have experience of being a product manager, product marketer, product owner, business owner or bringing products to market will benefit from this course. It is also beneficial if participants are familiar with Lean Agile principles and practices before participating.
